To a stirred solution of tert-butyl 3,3-dimethylpiperazine-1-carboxylate (2.0 g, 9.33 mmol) and (2-bromoethoxy)(tert-butyl)dimethylsilane (3.35 g, 14.0 mmol) in ACN (5 mL) was added K2CO3 (3.87 g, 28.0 mmol) at RT. The reaction mixture was stirred at 70 C for 16 hours. The resulting mixture was diluted with water (50 mL) and extracted with EA (3 x 50 mL). The combined organic layers were washed with brine (3 x 50 mL), dried over anhydrous Na2SO4 and filtered. The filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography, eluting with a gradient of 1 – 10% EA in PE to afford the title compound.
