Stepl: To a solution of 1 (0.31 g, 1.43 mmol) in THF (20 mL) was added Ti(OEt)4 (0.595 g, 2.58 mmol) and N-(4-trifluoromethylphenyl)-piperazine 2 (0.3 g, 1.3 mmol). The mixture was stirred at 40’C for 24h, quenched by adding ice- water, extracted with ethyl acetate (3 x 20 mL), dried.
