Gas chromatog. separation of optically active amino alcs., amines, amino esters, and alcs. was achieved using optically active Cu(II) complexes. The binuclear Cu(II) complex of either (R)-2-(salicylidenamino)-1,1-bis(5-tert-butyl-2-octyloxyphenyl)propan-1-ol or (S)-2-(salicylidenamino)-1,1-diphenylpropan-1-ol was incorporated into the stationary phase on both capillary and packed columns.
